How To Travel In Style And Comfort

March 3rd, 2020 by Simon Jacobs

It is no secret that the man about town is no stranger to travelling from place to place, both for work and pleasure. Whether your mode of transport consists of sitting in the back of a Hackney Carriage for 10 minutes, an hour or two sat on the train or a long-haul flight across the Atlantic Ocean, you need to find the correct balance of comfort and style.

While you don’t want to be stuck in rigid office wear on a long journey, any man worth his salt also knows that resorting to tracksuits is strictly out of bounds. You never know who you might bump into and when a networking opportunity might present itself, so make sure your appearance doesn’t resemble that of a man heading to the gym.

Cooper Cashmere Blend Zip-Up and Matching Sweatpants

Tracksuits are a no, however, this doesn’t mean that you can’t still opt for something more comfortable than suit trousers or jeans when all you want to do is sit back and relax as much as you can. Striking the perfect balance between style and comfort is the combination of the Cooper Cashmere Blend Zip-Up top and matching Squaw Cashmere Blend Sweat Pants.

This is the perfect ensemble to step onto a long-haul flight with, especially if you are planning on catching 40 winks. Comfortable enough to sit in yet designed to upkeep your sense of style, the zip-up jacket is made from a blend of extra fine merino wool and super soft cashmere makes for a comfortable yet versatile piece. Added to the matching sweatpants, cut for optimum comfort and a relaxed silhouette, you will also find an elastic waistband that can be easily adjusted for the perfect fit.

Carnaby Cashmere Zip-Up Track Jacket and Portobello Sweatpants

Keeping with the relaxed look and feel of the zip-up jacket and sweat pants, also available from the Mr Quintessential website is the combination of a Carnaby Cashmere Zip-Up Track Jacket and Portobello Pure Cashmere Sweat Pants. The ultimate in luxury travel fashion, this will keep you feeling cool, comfortable and stylish on even the longest of journeys. Whether you are travelling for business or pleasure, the ensemble made from only the highest quality cashmere material makes for practical fashion items.

Easy to wear pieces make for the best means of travelling in comfort and style, which can also be transformed by what they are worn with. The Carnaby jacket paired with sweatpants makes for a casual and stylish set while when worn with a pair of jeans, it transforms into an ideal smart-casual outfit ideal for going out for drinks with friends after work or, alternatively, walking the dog through the fields. Ideal for keeping you warm on crisp mornings or chilly evenings.

By wearing versatile fashion items that don’t look out of place when matched with more formal wear, this will help you to travel comfortably and reduce your luggage. Mr Quintessential is on hand to keep you looking and feeling your best, wherever in the world you are headed to.

The Best Sweaters For Spring

February 27th, 2020 by Simon Jacobs

Spring is in the air but so, too, is a slight chill which can make picking the perfect outfit a difficult task. When the sun is shining the temptation is to don your favourite summer ensemble but the weather is not quite there and a light sweater makes for a practical and stylish piece in the season.

To help you keep the cold at bay in a beautifully fashionable way, we have compiled our list of favourite sweaters for any wardrobe this spring. From cashmere crew necks to silk roll neck sweaters, we are confident there is a piece here to suit any gentleman’s sense of style

Canyon Cashmere Crew Neck

The classic men’s cashmere crew neck sweater has long been a staple of the gentleman’s wardrobe and it is with good reason. It just looks the part and can be worn as part of either a formal or casual outfit, making this piece an essential for the man that enjoys a drink or two after work on a Friday afternoon.

Soft and tactile, this sweater (pictured here in beige but also available in claret) is both light enough to wear comfortably indoors, whilst also providing enough of a barrier against the spring chill. If you don’t own this piece, you are already falling behind before we have even gotten started.

Piccadilly Silk Cashmere Roll Neck Sweater

If you are looking to add a touch of sophistication to your spring essentials this year, look no further than this smart Piccadilly silk and cashmere roll neck sweater available in blue. Striking enough to add colour to any outfit, designed to be worn either as the main attraction in itself or underneath a tailored jacket.

Walk into any public house, office or party adorning this royal blue swear and you are guaranteed to be turning heads. This is your wardrobe’s secret weapon.

Smart-Casual V-Neck Sweater

The faithful v-neck sweat-shirt combination has long been an admired combination throughout the course of fashion history, and it’s not going anywhere any time soon. Our first highly-recommended piece in the v-neck sweater range is the Killington cashmere silver v-neck. Relaxed, lightweight and tactile, the piece is suitable to wear over the top of your office shirt or a casual t-shirt when joining friends and family for a day out.

Equally, this Pitt navy v-neck sweater, knitted from gauge cashmere and blended with smooth silk providing a wonderfully smooth finish that complements any outfit. Here shown in the navy finish, you can also find this flexible piece in charcoal and black, each of which makes for an ideal base to your ensemble.

All of these pieces are available online from Mr Quintessential’s website, where you can also find a wide range of luxury men’s fashion pieces suitable for both office and casual wear. Please head to our homepage to view each of the different categories, ranging from loungewear, beautifully knitted jumpers and accessories that add the finishing touch to your outfit.

Fashion in Your Fifties: The Guide for the Silver Fox

November 29th, 2019 by Simon Jacobs

When you stumble across this blog post, chances are, you are looking to restyle your fashion in your fifties as the handsome silver fox that you are! Going gray is to be embraced. It is a badge of dotage we all wish to wear. It is okay to miss that dark chocolate, auburn hair colour you had. You might even contemplate dyeing your hair. But let us take you on a journey of fabulous fashion to introduce you to the next stage of your life.

The Guide for the Silver Fox

Color Scheme

The color scheme will act as a guard and note necessarily and ban from wearing certain colors. We will break it down to seasons to simplify it. Since we are in the winter season, it is only right that we start with it.

In winter, the cooler tones of colours are noticeable to the eye. Over time, this makes your surroundings appear dull. This is the best time to wear colours with warm undertones. Seeing warmer undertones will automatically make you feel warmer. Canyon Cashmere Crew Neck Sweater – ClaretVail – Tonal Cashmere Cable Knit Crew Neck Sweater

During springtime, you can wear neutral undertones like Mayfair – Luxury Cashmere Roll Neck Sweater – Charcoal Grey

Remember, this is simply a guideline. Once you find your footing you will learn what learns, and what doesn’t.

Silhouette

This will be giving you guidelines–a foundation as to how to dress your silhouette. Jackets, blazers, vests, dress pants, shoes and other accessories are the foundation of your wardrobe. When it comes to dress shirts, it is best to go for a white shirt with a crisp collar. There is something so timeless and effortless about a crisp white shirt, be the sleeves rolled up or cuffed. It also brings any look together, perfectly.

Embrace the signs of your dotage in those silver locks. It is a gift and this, is our gift, to you: Fashion in Your Fifties!

Exclusively British Magazine mention

November 14th, 2017 by Simon Jacobs

Exclusively British Magazine features the Winter collection from MrQ.

Introducing the Autumn Winter collection, which fits comfortably into any man’s wardrobe. There are pieces to wear at the weekend with jeans or chinos, pieces that look just as good in the office over a crisp white shirt or pieces that fit neatly under a blazer on a night out. The collection is about items that fit well and wear well in a range of blues, greys, shades of black and tactile textured knitwear. These are investment pieces with a hint of detail, so they stand out as classic and edgy, bringing compliments and admiring looks.

As a British brand, it is great to be recognised in Exclusively British Magazine! We are truly proud and honored to be mentioned and admired!

MrQ

MrQuintessential was born out of the idea that many things in my wardrobe looked too immature for my years. Many tend to say that men lose interest in fashion as they approach the big 40, however, I strongly disagree, I still want to be stylish and look fantastic. Even though I am far into middle age now, I am too young to be old and am too old to dress in high street clothes, emblazoned with logos and initials. These items are just too risky for a man with grey in his hair.
